The central employees were deprived of any Dearness Allowance for a period of eighteen months, from January 2020 to June 2021. After this, employees have demanded the payment of arrears for this period. The government raises the due allowances two times during a year: once between January and June and thereafter from July to December. Apart from that, it has been seen that the dearness allowance from January to June is declared around March, while the additional dearness allowance from July to December is declared in July.
