SASSA R370 SRD Grant 2025: Status Check And Payment Dates Revealed

The SRD Grant is administered by the South African Social Security Agency to assist people in extreme distress. Effective next year, being 2025, this grant will be increasing from the current R350 per month to R370. Applicants must know the application process, requirements, and pay dates thereafter.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates applying for the SRD R370 grant must fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered:

  • Residence: An applicant must be South African citizen, permanent resident, or a refugee or asylum seeker with a special government permit. 
  • Age: 18 – 59 Years Age.
  • Income Status: Unemployed and not working or gaining any salary or social grants.
  • Means Test: Up to a maximum monthly income of R624.
  • No Other Government Grant: Not in receipt of any other government social assistance grant.

Application Procedure

Eligible applicants can apply for the SRD R370 grant by:

1. Online

  • Through the SASSA SRD grant website apply online.
  • Choose your citizenship status.
  • Enter your cell number and verify that using a One Time Pin(OTP) sent to you.
  • Complete the online application by filling in your personal particulars.
  • Submit your application and await acknowledgment.

2.Via WhatsApp Chat

  • Save the SASSA WhatsApp number: 082 046 8553.
  • Text “SRD Application” to us.
  • Follow the prompts and complete the application.

3. The application with USSD method

  • Dial *134*7737# on your phone.
  • Follow the prompts to continue with the application.

Checking Application Status

After sometime, applicants are advised to check the status of their applications:

Online Status Check

  • Visit the online SASSA SRD status check web page.
  • Enter your ID number and the cell number used when applying.
  • You can now view status updates on your application.

Status Check Through WhatsApp:

  • Text “Status” to 082 046 8553. 
  • Follow the prompts to access your application response status.

Payment Dates Schedule For 2025:

SASSA has set aside the following days for payouts of the SRD R370 grant from the 25th to the 30th of every month. Thus, April 2025 payouts, for example, will commence the 25th day of Friday in April and the 30th Wednesday in April. Beneficiaries must update their information to avoid payment delays.
